Your team: Our Finance team is the analytical engine behind News UK, ensuring our renowned media brands operate sustainably and efficiently. We transform complex numbers into clear, actionable insights that guide strategic business decisions across all platforms for our publishing and broadcasting businesses. 

Your role: As an Apprentice Finance Analyst, you will take your first steps into the world of commercial finance within a fast-paced media environment. As a member of the Group Finance Team, you will learn how to harness financial data to support business decisions, utilizing data transformation tools and modern AI technologies to help shape the future of finance while earning a formal qualification and gaining hands-on industry experience.

Being an apprentice at News UK: During your time with us, you will earn above the living wage while receiving comprehensive, hands-on training. You’ll work 4 days a week with News UK and spend 1 day studying toward a fully funded Data Analyst Level 4 qualification. Along with mentorship from top industry professionals, we will provide any tailored support you need to reach your full potential.

Day to day you will: 

• Gather and organise financial data from across the business to support monthly reporting

• Assist in building and updating financial dashboards to track commercial performance

• Analyse large datasets to spot trends, anomalies, and opportunities for efficiency

• Support the development of predictive models to improve financial forecasting 

• Utilise AI tools to enhance data analysis and automate routine finance tasks

What we are looking for from you:

• A genuine curiosity for numbers and how data can be used to solve business challenges.

• An interest in technology and a desire to learn how AI and automation are changing the finance landscape

• Clear and confident communication skills to explain your work and present to team members

• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy when managing and inputting financial information

• A proactive approach to learning, with the readiness to balance daily tasks with your apprenticeship studies.
