Commercial Sales Apprentice - News Broadcasting

Duration: 2 Year Apprenticeship

Start Date: January 2027

Location: London Bridge

Your role: As a Commercial Sales Apprentice at News Broadcasting, you will be an integral part of our dynamic sales team. This role is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the sales process within the media industry, from idea generation, prospecting and client engagement to closing deals, campaign delivery and maintaining long-term relationships. Working across industry leading brands, talkSPORT, Virgin Radio, Times Radio and Talk across our broadcast, social and digital output.

Being an apprentice at News Broadcasting: During your time with us, you will earn above the national living wage while receiving comprehensive, hands-on training. You’ll work 4 days a week with News UK and spend 1 day studying toward a fully funded Sales Executive Level 4 qualification. Along with mentorship from top industry professionals, we will provide any tailored support you need to reach your full potential.  

Day to day you will: 

  • Assist the commercial sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

  • Support the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.

  • Prepare sales presentations, campaign proposals, and contracts.

  • Maintain and update client databases and sales records.

  • Work on campaign delivery with clients and media agencies

  • Conduct sales calls and meetings with external clients

  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and networking events.

  • Gain hands-on operational experience in inventory trafficking and project management workflows.
